Electrical & Process Controls Engineer - County Meath. In this role you will have technical responsibility for the complete process design for interaction between various sub-systems that form part of the wide ranging energy plants designed and manufactured by this company. As part of your project work, you shall specify the technical requirements for procurement and evaluate suppliers and their products, you shall develop and maintain technical documentation as required. In addition to active project work, you shall also support the company on all electrical systems and process control systems as required. To be considered for this position you must be eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland and to travel across the island of Ireland (both Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland) as required. There may be also the opportunity to travel abroad in the future. The role is both office and site based. KEY ASPECTS OF THIS ROLE: The successful applicant will be required to display competence in the following; • AutoCAD or similar for the following: - Design, draft and maintain P&ID’s, - Design, draft and maintain electrical system schematics and panel and field layout drawings. • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc.) for the following: - Generation and maintenance of various engineering design documents, - Generation and maintenance of system and project documentation. • Assessing customer specifications when presenting and developing the process design innovations. • Design process systems in accordance with recognized codes and standards while utilising internally developed module blocks and standards. • Research and specify and select instruments, valves, control systems, and various other control components. • Design and develop electrical systems, PLC control & SCADA control systems. • Develop and execute electrical control system Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs. • Develop and execute electrical control system Site Acceptance Tests (SATs. • On site system installation supervision and commissioning. • Collaborate with department members and members of other departments to resolve job-related concerns as required. • Managing and leading a project team or be the sole engineer for an entire project or share portions thereof with other engineers. • Conform to existing departmental standards and offer objective, valuable input for the development of future standards. • Meeting schedules on time and with a quality product. • Process condition investigations and trouble shooting. • On-Site support.   OTHER JOB DUTIES: • Attend internal job-specific meetings. • Liaising with the mechanical and process department specify and source valves, motors, gearboxes etc. • Liaising with vendors to ensure a quality product is achieved for the company and the end customer. • Attending meetings, internal to the company, and with customers and vendors. • Provide phone support to customers and personnel in the field as needed. • Supporting the contract team when bidding for new work. • Overseeing maintenance programmes and quality control. • Producing technical documentation for projects. • Recording, analysing and interpreting test and actual process data. ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS ROLE: • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation Engineering or equivalent. • At least 3 years' experience designing, building or commissioning any of the following: - Electrical control panels or MCC panels. - Process Instrumentation, pump control, level control, Variable Speed Drives. - Burner management systems (BMS), - Combustion control systems (CCS), - Automation Systems (Siemens S7 PLC, Allen Bradley, WinCC InTouch, iFix. Understanding of S88. • Competent with Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID. • Competent with Electrical/ Electronic system schematics. • Competent with both discrete and analog control principles and logic. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to accurately document work performed. • Ability to provide verbal and written instructions. • Excellent interpersonal skills. • Must be able to travel as required by the position. • Full Driving Licence with own transport.
