Description

Quality Manager - County Westmeath. The successful candidate will be required to lead and co-ordinate the quality function, to ensure that customer and internal requirements are understood, managed and fulfilled though the direction and co-ordination of the quality management system. The ideal candidate will have the necessary leadership skills to promote and develop a culture of best practice within the organisation and will have a proven track record in the automotive, medical device, or high volume manufacturing industries. Responsibilities include: • Ensure that the organisation’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, ISO 9001/ISO13485/IATF16949, and regulatory/legal requirements. • Provide leadership to all teams on best practice with respect to Automotive Quality / Medical device manufacture. • Lead improvement projects with cross-functional teams to continually improve QMS. • Ensure that customer requirements are captured effectively and understood. • Support customer and internal APQP processes. • Direct the day to day activities of the Quality department. • Direct the activities of the Environmental Management system ISO14001. • Direct the internal audit and supplier audit program. • Manage customer complaints and issues in a timely manner. • Oversee the generation of KPI data and action plans to improve metrics. • Conduct management reviews. Qualifications and Experience sought: • Third level degree in engineering or quality related field. • At least 5 years’ experience working in a senior quality role, preferably in an automotive or medical device area. • Strong project management skills. Lean Sigma black or green belt qualification would be a distinct advantage. • Excellent computer skills. Other: • Must be capable of managing and directing a team. • Must be an effective communicator (written and verbal). Must also be confident in communicating directly with customers and certification bodies. • Candidates must be capable of working in a deadline driven environment with an ability to multitask. He/She must be quick to learn, reliable and committed to the task at hand. • A high level of flexibility is required. • Candidates must be enthusiastic and able to take the initiative.
