A new startup in Athlone is looking for an Engineering Manager to Join their team.The Engineering Manager will lead the establishment of site wide maintenance systems and Strategy and to build manufacturing and utility/facilities maintenance plans for Aerie’s greenfield sterile manufacturing facility. Essential Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: Leadership of key functions within the Engineering organization, including the development of organization structure, and the hiring, training, and management of the engineering staff. Management of Project Engineering, Automation Engineering, Facility Maintenance, Metrology and EHS functions. Management of design, installation, validation, operation, training, documentation and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and facility equipment, including but not limited to: filling and packaging machinery, autoclaves, boilers, water purification equipment, air handling equipment and compounding equipment. Management of equipment-related processes, including but not limited to water systems, controlled manufacturing environments, plant steam supply, clean steam supply, and sterilization processes. Management of automation systems associated with facility or manufacturing equipment. Ensuring that equipment and processes meet safety requirements and GMP requirements. Ensuring overall EHS compliance. Required: Requires a Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering. At least 7 years relevant engineering experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, with at least 4 years experience in a comparable Engineering Team Leader role. Must have experience working in a sterile manufacturing environment. Ophthalmic manufacturing experience a plus. Experience with many of the following processes: Equipment specification, procurement, expediting & FATs. Vendor, consultant and contractor management. Project construction & safety systems. Equipment installation, commissioning & validation. Automation – BMS, MES, Siemens S7 and SCADA. Clean systems & utilities – CIP, SIP & WFI/DIW/Clean steam.
