Description

The System Technician will work with Engineering and Technician teams across the site to provide front-line support, project design and implementation. Develop and mentor the system technician team to support manufacturing requirements across the site. Main Roles & Responsibilities: Work with engineers and systems technicians to identify & implement new projects. Provide training and mentorship to systems technicians. Ensure systems technicians core processes are in place and adhered to, e.g., Work dialogue, visual problem solving, identification of systems issues. Issue resolution, escalation process and system technician shift practices management. Work with technical communities across the site to prioritize and execute systems projects. Create and distribute systems performance reports and ensure corrective actions are in place. Liaise with contractors when on site. Plan and manage maintenance week systems activities. Ensure PM schedule is effective and compliant – carry out periodic reviews. Apply knowledge of PLC programmers, Motion Control, sensors, in-line vision systems (Cognex in particular), Barcode systems, Network topology, PC skills, PC application software, and Systematic troubleshooting/problem solving skills. Apply knowledge of Allen-Bradley Controllogix5000 and PLC5, ControlNet/DeviceNet, Visual Basic applications, Motion Control programming (Sercos, AB, Emerson, Lenze), Barcode systems (SICK, DVT. Provide innovative inputs to new production lines in the areas of control, data collection, motive power, robotics and communications. Support Equipment and Software Validation, IQ, OQ and PQ. Full spec on request. Lead System Technician Requirements: Fully Certified Electrician or Certificate/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation or Mechatronics. Eight years’ experience in high volume automation or plant control. Experience in SCADA, Allen Bradley {Control Logix & PLC 5}, Siemens or similar PLC programming and control. Experience of equipment and software validation. Demonstrate a high level of technical ability. Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong Teamwork abilities.
