What you need to know: We are looking to fill a key position within the Cell laboratory at a progressive and expanding GMP pharmaceutical company based in Westmeath, where you will be supervising a team of highly skilled and dedicated scientists who have a real passion for anything Cell related! Your new job: As an Analytical Group Supervisor you will manage the day to day operations within the Cell laboratory, whilst having supervisory responsibility for a team of scientists. You will take ownership of the delivery of staff training, monitoring quality procedures and implementation of quality systems, ensuring project timeliness and being accountable for overall client satisfaction. Key duties & responsibilities: Management of a team of 15 scientist in Cell lab in the Biopharmaceutical division. Allocation, scheduling and management of laboratory resources as per team projects. Review and approve laboratory investigations, deviations, QA facility and data audits. Coordinate and prioritise projects ( physical testing, analytical development, sample management etc ) and reviewing all project related documentation. Preparing and implementing company SOPs and operational policies. Performing quantitative and qualitative analysis using immunochemistry or cell-based assay techniques ( gene assays, anti-proliferation and cell cytotoxicity assays ) What are we looking for? Ph.D. in microbiology, immunology or cell biology and experience in developing cellular and immunological based assays; or equivalent cumulative experience with a lesser degree. 5+ years’ experience in molecular and cell biology. Min. 1-year leadership responsibility/direct supervision of technical staff. Extensive mammalian cell culture experience with adherent and suspension cell lines. Strong knowledge in biological sciences and a good aseptic technique is essential. Thorough understanding of GMP, LIMs, SOPs and ICH guidelines. Experience of training junior scientists is essential.
