Acrow Recruitment are currently recruiting for a niche role; an existing construction specialist is branching out into the area of manufacturing and they are looking for a General Manager to head their manufacturing team and work on new Business Development. This position will be based in Athlone. They require someone with experience in Production, Engineering, Quality and Operations, who is technically astute, has a can-do attitude and an excellent attention to detail, organisational and planning skill set. This role will be involved in the initial set up, and will entail problem solving, co-ordinating and forward planning whilst driving the business forward and generating new business. Responsibilities will include: Planning, actuating, and controlling a production plan in an industrial setting. Maintaining and promote a safe, productive, and efficient environment. Bring astute problem-solving and root cause analysis skills to assist identifying hazards, interacting with machine tools and factory equipment, and deal with confidential company information. Bring recommendations to the Operations Manager regarding staffing needs and process improvement to fulfil production requirements, including recommendations to increase operations and promote a Lean Manufacturing environment. Bring an ability to maintain and develop relationships with customers to enhance and drive future business, including generating new business. Requirements: Ideally, Bachelor’s degree preferred or comparable equivalent experience. 5 years of industrial experience with proven experience in overseeing and delivering the entire manufacturing process, to schedule and in line with financial plans; ensuring a quality product is produced on time and at a competitive price. Hold proven experience in Lean Manufacturing, Production Planning, and Leadership. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to this role, as you will need to maintain relationships with both internal employees and external customers to drive future business opportunities. Proven records in driving and developing new business. Experience in steering a profitable business by driving revenue and profit and by further leveraging current customers and by winning new business, building strong and lasting customer relationships with excellent account management and customer service. Proficient with IT including Microsoft Office Suite.   Excellent package on offer.
