Vehicle Engineering Manager. Ashbourne Connect is seeking a new team member to join the Engineering Team at our garage in Ashbourne, Co. Meath. About us. Our fleet is approximately 15 vehicles and is a mix of Volvo coaches and Volvo and Dennis service buses. We also buy and sell buses and coaches and occasionally preform third party maintenance for other operators. As our business expands and now with higher standards and compliance requirements, we have the need for a new member to help us move to the next stage of our business development. What we require. We have identified the need for a new role reporting directly to the Managing Director of the Company. The aspects of this job are. Lead the Engineering Team. This involves allocating work to team members and ensuring compliance to work systems. Preventive maintenance of the fleet. This involves pre-planned service items such as fluid and filter changes, lubrication of moving parts, function checks of vehicle systems and checks. Stock Control. This involves the maintenance, dispatch and procurement of consumable and stock items for the upkeep of the fleet. Paperwork and Testing. Upkeep of vehicle records, performing scheduled inspections of the fleet, presenting vehicles for 12 weekly checks at the local CVRT centre and presenting of the fleet to CVRT/PSV tests. Health and Safety. Keeping the work environment hazard free, maintaining service equipment and keeping the engineering department clean and tidy. The right person will spend approximately 50% of their time engaged in pre-planned maintenance of the fleet, equipment and work in progress. The other 50% of the work day will involve administrative functions of stock, manpower and paperwork. Generally corrective repairs will not fall within the remit of the job but at times when needed this will be required. What we offer. This job is a permanent full time position at our base in Ashbourne, Co. Meath. The salary is a performance-based model. It will be calculated by KPIs including. • Adherence to preplanned maintenance schedules. • Vehicle Availability. • Annual CVRT pass rate. • Monthly Audits of work systems. • Attendance and Timekeeping. The base salary for this position will be €25,000-€32,000 per year and the performance based payments will up to 100% of the base salary. Total potential earnings of €64,000 per year. What we look for in candidates. • Fully Qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic. • Minimum of 5 years experience in a HGV/PSV garage. • Excellent standard of written English. • Ability to use vehicle diagnostic equipment. • Ideally a D licence or ability to obtain one. • Proficiency in Excel and Word. This position is ideal for an enthusiastic mechanic looking to move forward in their career.
