Description

H&S Advisor. I am seeking an experienced H&S Advisor to provide professional expertise to ensure this dynamic company meets its legal requirements regarding safe work practices. You will. Play an active role in driving a positive & proactive H&S attitude. Working with site mgt. to develop, implement & maintain H&S practices, programmes & initiatives, driving a H&S culture change at the plant. Co-ordinating the identification of workplace hazards & assessment of risks, advise mgt. on control measures to eliminate, minimise or control risks. Liaise with other departments on purchase of equipment, articles, substances to ensure appropriate H&S stds are maintained. Actively participate in designing & delivering company H&S training programme with HR & training advisors. Oversee all H&S accident/incident investigations & follow-up, close out of corrective actions. Liaise closely with training providers for Emergency Response Teams to ensure the prevention of fire & the safe evacuation of employees in emergency situations. Assumes the role of internal H&S auditor, reporting to the senior mgt. team on the work of the H&S Department; including timely audits, & compliance with the H&S policies & procedures - reporting any issues to the Directors in a timely & appropriate fashion. Submit a detailed monthly H&S audit report to the senior mgt. team, highlighting strengths & weakness, opportunities & threats; improvements needed; infringements of the H&S legislation & outline corrective action. Experience in OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 Safety Mgt. Systems is desirable. You will be educated to at least diploma level & a minimum of 7 years' exp. in a regulated production environment. A self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem-solving skills & handle tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills & project influencer at all levels in the organisation. An ability to interpret relevant legislation on behalf of the company & excellent presentation skills & be proficient with MS Office. Ideally you will hold CMIOSH status or be working towards achieving it.
