PRACTICE NURSE - TOTAL PART / TIME Immediate start available. RocDoc is a GP and Minor Emergency Department based in a state-of-the-art facility in Ashbourne, Co Meath with a patient base for patients with a private and medical card. We currently have a position for a Practice Nurse with experience in our staff on a full / part time basis. The position requires you to work as part of a team of clinicians who provide care to patients attending the center within your scope of practice. These patients will include pediatric and adult presentations and the post will include clinics and phototherapy tests, dual care (maternity), cervical smears, childhood vaccines, vaccines, etc. This post will be based during practice opening hours Monday to Friday and may include some Public Holidays. Candidates must have the flexibility and ability to work as part of a team that makes sound clinical decisions. Overtime may be available on an ad hoc or ongoing basis. Non-clinical dedicated time is allocated weekly. ESSENTIAL Irish Nursing & Midwifery Board (NMBI) Registered Nurse. No upcoming or current investigations / restrictions. Experienced Practice Nurse with at least 12 months experience in this area. Proven experience of key responsibilities as listed below. Ability to liaise clearly with patients through telephone / face to face consultations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. To be self-motivated with excellent timekeeping, interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure, use initiative and work as part of a team. Computer literate. Knowledge and familiarity with HIQA standards. Fluent in spoken and written English. Forward thinking and motivation. Right to work in the EU. ADVANTAGES Current ACLS certification or qualification. A midwifery qualification with previous experience would be an advantage. Triage experience. Ability to speak another language. Proficiency in MS Office packages. Experience of using SOCRATES. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES The main responsibilities are as follows, but are not limited to: Take a Cervical Smear. Phlebotomy. Antenatal checks using the Dual Care system. Vaccinations including childhood. Dressings, wound care and transfers from me. Ear syringe. ECG. Blood pressure assessments. Chronic Disease Management. Liaise with patients through telephone / face to face consultations. Stock management. Equipment maintenance. Inspections. Interviews will be held until a suitable candidate is found.
