OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB. Goods Outwards: The Warehouse Operative will be responsible for picking, packing and labelling goods going out to our branch network. Goods Inwards: The Warehouse Operative will be responsible for unloading, labelling and putting deliveries into stock. JOB SPECIFICATION. Print orders received daily and confirm, pick and dispatch as required. Operate a Counter Balance Forklift and Electric Pallet Truck. Ensure efficient safe building of orders, minimising damages and maximising cost per pallet whilst adhering to health and safety guidelines. Hood and wrap pallets ensuring they are safe for loading and transport. Correct reporting of damaged stoc. Focus on achieving high levels of Health and Safety throughout the warehouse and highlight any hazards/risks immediately to Management. Maintain high levels of housekeeping across all areas of the warehouse. Communicate and cooperate with co-ordinators and co-workers. Participate in stock take as and when required. Any other duties as may be reasonably requested by Management. Please note that the above list is not intended to capture every detail of your role but the main areas of responsibility. PERSON SPECIFICATION. The following criteria will be used in the selection process. Only those applicants who meet the essential criteria will be shortlisted for interview. The Company reserves the right to initially shortlist those candidates who meet both essential and desirable criteria. Essential. A minimum of 6 months previous warehouse or general operative experience in a fast paced environment. Accustomed to a high degree of manual handling. Counter Balance forklift driving experience. Proficient computer user. Possess strong attention to detail. Ability to work as part of a team. Desirable. Willing and able to work on different shift patterns between the hours of 6am to 6.30pm (excluding overtime. Experience in other forklift machines i.e. side loader, reach truck, power pallet truck etc. Previous experience and/ or product knowledge from within the heating and plumbing industry.
