What you need to know. This leading pharmaceutical company based in Galway are looking to recruit a Senior Analytical Scientist who will seek to continuously improve the way we work in R&D Analytical. This is a permanent job offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits. Your new job. You will be responsible for carrying out significantly complex and involved analytical testing of new/existing products, with the purpose of generating supporting analytical data required for product manufacturing license applications. You will be expected to take ownership of the work, ensuring assigned project analytical activities meet predefined milestones. Key duties & responsibilities: Plan, coordinate and manage the testing activities relating to Institutional R&D activities. Development of staff, tracking work schedules, performance evaluations. Maintaining the analytical budget and will be the decision maker in selection of new API’s and materials. Set technical standards to comply with FDA/EMA and collaborating with Quality and Regulatory groups. Ensure the analytical group operates to the company’s EHS standards. Ensure data generated from testing or studies is evaluated and organizes monthly data evaluation meetings to discuss the results. What are we looking for? Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a science related discipline (Preferably Chemistry or Biotechnology) with a minimum of 6 years pharmaceutical analytical laboratory experience, ideally in a R&D environment. You must possess a strong knowledge of modern analytical techniques and operating systems such as HPLC, including method delivery and validation. Previous experience of leading analytical projects including training and supervising the activities of junior analytical personnel. Knowledge of quality procedures within a highly regulated pharmaceutical laboratory is essential. Knowledge of how a stability function runs in a pharmaceutical laboratory is necessary.
