The Role: Based in Athlone with a well known nationwide brand the successful candidate will report directly into the Financial Controller. Working with an existing team of 5 people the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the day to day functions of a busy Financial Department. Key Responsibilities: Ensure that the day to day functions of the Finance Department are completed. Manage the day to day revenue and expenditure cycles including implementation and continuous review of internal financial controls (including reconciliations) appropriate to the business. Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly accounts within strict reporting deadlines. Drive processes that allow for efficiency and effectiveness within the Finance Department by critically evaluating and refining current processes through automation where possible. Responsible for the planning and execution of quarterly forecasts and yearly budgeting. Responsible for the maintenance of inter-group transactions across all jurisdictions and in multiple currencies. Assist in preparation of year-end audit files, explanations and provide assistance to external auditors in relation to the annual audit. Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding company performance. Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes. Assist in the management of working capital and cash flow. Dealing with other finance-related queries from other departments. Experience Required: Part/Fully Qualified Accountant. Previous industry experience in working in a finance function. Strong accounts preparation experience. Excellent analytical skills. Highly motivated with the ability to take ownership of the role. Strong communication skills. Audit experience is an advantage.
